Rules for the Contest
You must use at least 1 male stock found on deviantArt, and make him into your favorite character. You may also request stock from the male stock providers. We have no control over whether or not they will accept your request, but know that may be an option if you can't find exactly what you want.
The characters must be from a book/game/movie/tv show/comic/cartoon/etc. that's copyrighted, and NOT someone's OC. The character doesn't necessarily have to be male or human.
The contest is open to all visual media. This is a change from the original rules so that more people will want to participate and can do so in their strongest medium. Maximum of 3 entries per person.
The contest starts NOW and ends on the 30th of June (that's more than 2 months). This will give you time to wait for requested stock, and really put some good work into your entry(s).
All entries must be a new deviation created after the 18th of April.
You must state on the deviation that is in an entry for this contest, and you must give a link to somewhere that explains your character. This is to verify that it's a real character from a book/movie/game/show/whatever. You must also, of course, credit the stocker(s) whose work you used.
There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, and possibly honorable mentions depending on number of entries.
Submit your entries to the
Fan Art Contest Folder in the group favs. You must be a Member to submit favs, so join if you haven't already!
Tips (A.K.A. What to do to Have a Better Chance at Winning!):
Follow the contest rules! Otherwise you will be disqualified :< We don't want that
Make it interesting! Put a scene around your character, give them their weapons/props/whatever!
Up for a challenge? Add the character's love interest, side kick, enemy, etc. there too
Do your best work! Judging will not necessarily depend solely on skill. If you do your best work and make something creative and unique, we will notice!
Bribes will be accepted in the form of cookies and/or cheesecake.

based on "old masters" drawings and we got like maybe 8 or 10 submissions, even with a time extension. I can't even tell you how many photomanips my stock has been used in! I feel like I should just grow a pair of wings to make it easier for everyone

Yeah, I don't really care what media the entries are in as long as people are having fun and there ARE entries. I just wish people had told me this BEFORE I made up the contest...
